It goes on the seat rail. I remove mine everything I clean the carpet.

+1 for rear seat rail cover. ive had mine knocked loose by passengers before.

Just check your seat rails, one of them is missing a cap. Figure out which one is missing and check the other seat to see how it fits.

maybe I am missing them on both sides? It doesn't seem like it would fit on the end of any of the seat rails.

actually you are wrong. i'm not loosing hp. the detached <1oz plastic piece from the seat rail is actually affecting the side to side weight distribution of the car...
