Just need to vent..

Alrighty.. Just got my 04 G coupe about two weeks ago. I've detailed it probably 30 times already haha I need a girlfriend.. kidding. Just making the point that I love it.
I've paid for every single thing I've ever gotten or needed myself since I've been 14(apparently teaches responsibility..) now including the G. My mom is well off, but doesn't have a "fun" car due to the fact that my step dad can't drive a stick. She's in a volvo s60 R.
Today, she asked to borrow my car to go to lunch, if she'd fill it up. Seeing as gas is 3.45/ gal, it was hard to pass up. A little background on my mothers driving. She's had to replace two of the wheels on the volvo already and probably twice as many tires due to curb surfing. I knew this, so I drilled it into her the importance to me of babying my car, emphasizing the point to stay away from curbs. I'm figuring due to my forshadowing that you can guess what happened. 40 total miles she puts on it, along with a nice ten inch scrape/ rash around the edge of the right front wheel! GOD F-IN DAMMIT!

So, I'm pissed. My plan is guilt trip city until nice new shiny rims at a mojorly discounted(her pocket) price are sitting at my door... I'm pretty sure I hear some noise coming from the right front suspension too..

Thanks for listening..

#1 reason I don't let anyone else drive my vehicles. If you are well off then she should at least pay for a repair. Its only right if she doesn't want to be a hypocrite about teaching you responsibility. Good luck.

Hey, don't get me wrong, I'm not gonna kick her ***.. I had the feeling something was going to happen when she called me to ask how to take the gas cap off.. But, you have to take advantage when you can. I haven't cost her money in years, so I think it should be a nice birthday or something.. all I'm saying..

brutal... I'm sure you two can work something out... If you can forgive anyone for something like that, you can forgive your moms!

It's funny though.. total role reversal. I love her, and apparently so does tire discounters..

crap sorry to be the bearer of possible bad news, but if you're hearing noise from the right front suspension then you might have possible frame or suspension damage. And once the frame of the car is screwed, your car will never be the same.

Jeez....Let it go! It isn't like its the dealership who did this, She's your mother. How many times did she turn the other cheek when you F'd up things of hers...

Break down and pay to have the rim repaired.....It will cost you $150 at the most.
Don't guilt/blackmail her in to buying you a new set of rims....for god sake, if you want them that bad.....be a man and buy them yourself......

If you're so self reliant as you say....take care of this on your own.

Heres a couple pics of my rim that I screwed up TWICE

Never understood what is so hard about not curbing your wheels, if you just pay attn. while your parking this would never happen, **** you get what 16 or 18 inches to park away from the curb, so utilize it lol......next time just a simple NO will work, but yeha take it easy on your mom, i'm sure she'll repair them for you w/o you even asking....just dont let people drive your car, simple!

here's the pre-solution to this problem.... TEACH YOUR STEP-DAD TO DRIVE A MANUAL! ... preferably not on your car. = long term happiness for him, her and YOU

Whew! You guys are really getting on my case! I didn't yell at her...
I never let people drive my cars other than my best friend. I've done it twice and it's equalled 1 total and 1 body shop visit.
I was kidding about the noise from the right front. Just seeing what kind of rise i could get out of her.
I could teach my step dad how to drive stick, but then my parents would be in on rims and a new clutch haha. (kidding again, let it go)
I'm light hearted, so this really doesn't bother me, other than the fact that I'm trying to keep it pristine! She offered to fix it, but I'm just going to get new rims with nice stickys and put winter tires on the stockies so if they're banged up, oh well.
