Dashboard & Interior Panels Care

Anyone have suggestions about what products to use to clean and protect the interior panels? I've noticed a number of products create a more shiny/glossy appearance per past vehicles.

I'm actually trying to avoid this shiny look and have a more natural look; just like when picked up brand new!

Much appreciated,

Actually the dash is only dusty, however I've always thought it was good to protect your dash, interior etc with a protectant. Keep it from fading, ageing, cracking etc via the sun and cold winters.

Anyways I think I'll do the same as you.

Thanks!

Re: Dashboard & Interior Panels Care

there are many vinyl/plastic protectants that you can use. this is very important or else your dash will fade/dry/peal. some good brands are Vinynex, 303 Aerospace, ect.

Aerospace 303 has a matte finish when it dries, and has UV protectant in it. A quality product for all vinyl/plastic and can be used on leather, too.

I have been using the 1Z Cockpit Premium on a microfiber towel. No gloss what so ever! I like 303 as well, but you have to get it all off or it will leave a bit of a gloss.

I've never used this and don't want to put 303 down, but I heard to say away from water based products(like amoral), as they do more harm than good.

I'm very happy with Armor All Cleaning Wipes link. It's nothing like the normal Armor All wipes.
Good luck,

I agree with the damp towel wipe down. Using any chemical products usually causes more harm than good and leaves that residue appearance.

Cheap vinyl dressings like Armor All do more harm than good. I don't know why you don't want to use Aerospace 303, it has UV protection and gives a matte appearance. If you can't find it in your automotive section, you can find it in marine boating supply stores.

Zaino Leather in a bottle. Protects leather and vinyl with no gloss or shine. Plus it smells very leathery. I'd put my money on Zaino.

Re: Dashboard & Interior Panels Care

UV rays will DESTROY your interior. do you self a favor and buy a good protectant, simply wiping it down is not enough.

would you simply wipe your face if you were in the sun for 10 hours? imagine the same UV damage your dash is experiencing. go buy some now! btw, i've never heard of a protectant damaging anyones dash if used correctly, even armor all.

Re: Dashboard & Interior Panels Care

Last week, my wife crashed her SUV into the side of my G35Coupe causing the passenger door to have to be replace…but that’s a whole other story. Anyway, when I picked up the G from the body shop, I found that they had put Armor All throughout the inside of the cockpit! I was horrified! I never use that stuff. It was like I took my car to MTV and told them to “pimp my ride”. It took about an hour to get all of that stuff off of the interior. The clean-up guy even wiped down the windows with the rag he used on the Armor All. After it cleaned up I found that the body work was exceptional and my car looks as good as it did before. And in case you are wondering…a door and paint job cost about 2 grand.
