1 day of ownership - couldn't be happier

Opinions, buying story, etc:

Car seats/infants - Love the G coupe for this and it's working great. Surprisingly, this car has more front and rear leg room than my 2003 Eclipse. The automatic seat sliding for backseat passengers is absolutely huge for me. So much easier than holding a power seat adjuster to slide forward and back while dealing with your kid. I've never owned a car with turbo-charged power seats, so you're not going to hear me complaining about how slow the seat moves when waiting for the automatic movement. I've got baby #2 on the way, and looking forward to it.

6MT - I've been driving manuals for 13 years. Took me 10 minutes to get comfortable with this transmission. Even my wife settled into it with only 1 drive (she makes me so proud:)). I think the shifter is absolutely perfect. Really nice short throws and it just has a cool "nestled in" look with it's super short length. The easiest transmission/clutch I've driven was my '99 Z24 cavalier, but that felt like crap and was boring compared to this. Easy doesn't always equate to fun. If you have manual experience, you'll be happy with your decision to go manual with the G.

Bose - Most of us are young and experienced with aftermarket stereos. I think that in itself sets the expectation too high for this system. My view is that it's a huge improvement over the Infinity 6 disk OEM system that was in my eclipse. I have no complaints at all. If I wanted bass, I'd throw in a real sub. Who needs that when you've got the G to listen to? I'll never get tired of noises that come out of this car......

Power - It's true that only Jesus can provide true satisfaction and happiness. The American way leads to "it's never enough". Money, cars, houses - when you get what you want, you just end up wanting more. God
and my family are my sources of happiness. This is my realistic dream car and I'm 100% satisfied with the power. God definitely put a passion for driving in my blood and this car gives me the "whoa baby" feeling. I'm smiling ear to ear on every curvy on-ramp. Those that are hoping to buy a G someday shouldn't listen to the few people on here that call the G slow (particularly the fun version: 6MT).

Rev-up oil consumption - If I can buy a used car and possibly end up with a brand new engine any time before 70k miles because of a TSB, I'm all for it. Nuff said.

G35's are a steal right now. I can't believe the prices that started showing up in major metropolitan areas after the G37 came out. I live in Sioux Falls SD and had to drive 8 hours to Chicago to purchase. I NEVER drive more than 3 or 4 hours so this was a stretch for me. Easily worth the drive and I'd do it again in a heart beat. I purchased from Mitch Lewandowski at Autoshowcase of Carol Stream. Excellent dealership and they have much better BBB and ebay feedback than some of the other luxury dealers in the area. This dealer buys a lot of loaded G's so keep your eye on them if you're in the neighborhood.

I've only got half the car pictured, but you might be able to fill in the blanks. A big thanks to my wife for letting me have my dream machine. I'm of the opinion that a barely used G35c is the perfect all around package and can't be beat. Thanks so much to everyone here and all of the insight you provide every day.

2006 6MT NAVI 15k miles and one happy owner.

Glad to hear you're loving every bit of your car. It is a fantastic car and worth every penny. Seems like you did your research prior to the purchase or else you wouldn't have driven 8 hrs for it. Yikes!

Thanks Beebo - it is Infinity, the speaker company. They make the upgraded stereo systems in Mitsu Eclipses.
