Whats your price range? That price is right for an 05 with that many miles. HOWEVER it has no warrenty as beebo said. I would not buy it since you are young, like me. Because once you start having problems all those little bills will end up costing you a lot of money. Get an 04 with lower milage. I think that will be your best bet. The 04 have more tq and brembos too (better for the track)! but no rev-up, good trade off I'd say, even for your age and spending limits.

The reason I asked for your spending limit is because I find clean carfax 05 G's with 45k miles for $19,000. I would say this is a better deal than what you would be getting. Do you want an auto? Because 6MT seem to be a bit more money (worth it in my eyes). Good Luck!

EDIT**A car with 90k+ miles, the suspension will most likely not be as tight and compact feeling as a car with 40k miles. But if you plan to do a bunch of mods like new suspension and things like that. I guess it will not be as much of a problem.

It sounds like I'm getting mixed signals here from different people. I still think this would be a good buy for me because my daily commute to school and back is no more than 5 miles. I can't see myself taking any trips in this car so I won't be tacking on many miles to the 98k existing miles. If these cars are known to last 200k miles or more with proper maintenance, I think this will be a car that will last me as long as I need.

I plan on adding some coilovers at one point or another so worn suspension will likely be of no worry to me.

Just wondering, how much would a full suspension overhaul cost me? I.e. shocks, struts, bushings, all wear parts, etc. Springs, etc.

Coilovers is what you need as well as a few other things(I don't know much about suspension so I do not want to post false info). Coilovers can run you from $800-$2000. TEIN Comfort Sports are VERY nice. Higher milage = more money you will have to spend. Just remember that.

I drove it today. It's in perfect condition. It's EVERYTHING I could ever ask for in a car. Absolutely ****ing skeet-worthy. Such an amazing car. I am absolutely speechless.

I am going to continue on Monday with a Pre Purchase Inspection.

buy it, if the engine goes get another and put it in your self if you don't know how, buy a book on the car then do it. Offer them 15k out the door, green cash, like walk up with it in an envelope.... Oh! Also bring a guy to watch your back in case they try to 50 cent you.

Wise words if there ever were any around here. The average car starts to break down and need major repairs right at 80K. Your money, your problems. You came on here, the general concensus is, 98k is the beginning of many $$$$$$ problems.

EXACTLY.(Period) Being 17 you are not going to have that money to fix the possible problems. Well you will but you wont be able to do anything else. Who am I kidding, I am 17 too. I'm starting to sound like my mom. Buy an 04 with lower milage, youll be glad you did. Trust me I have done a lot of research. But I might get an 05 with 45k miles

Twinturbo2800, I'm the web manager for a few fair-sized companies in Los Angeles. Being a minor, my parents pay for all the basics so literally all of my income is at my disposal for whatever I want. In this case, it's cars. A lot of the companies I do work for are very practical for me. Being a surfer, I work on a local surf shops website which translates to big discounts on the gear I need. Another website I designed and maintain is an pretty major auto repair shop in West LA which translates to about 50% off labor and I get parts at wholesale.

I'm going to set aside a fat chunk of change for some preventative maintenance when I buy it. Can anyone suggest what I should replace right of the bat?

Sounds like what I had to do when I purchased my BMW. The G35 is so hot, but sometimes I question whether buying a lower mileage 330ci for the same price would be a better investment.

i say get a lower mileage... less hassle, im 16 and have an 05 coupe, haven't had any major problems, a few rattles and squeaks, the sensor in the seat went out, but nothing bad. i say keep looking.. no need to let the money burn a whole in your pocket, there will be good deals on less mileage cars soon enough... just my thoughts since I waited 4 months looking for a G after months of deciding which car to get
