Ok guys, I have a photography assignment for my physics class. I already have a few shots I might use but was wondering if our exhaust manifolds get hot enough to glow at all. If i went out for a hard drive to get it hot and then parked it and revved it up for several second straight, would they glow?

Or would I even be able to get a good shot of them if they did?

Stock? I highly doubt they get hot enough to glow unless there is something wrong.

At first I was considering if there was a way to get a ranch dressing smell from a hot exhaust manifold. I decided it was not very likely just in time to read the second part of that sentence. My curiosity was assuaged.

 

did you fill it up with ranch instead of gasoline? man that's probably murder on the fuel injectors....
