I'm a new owner and have a qustion about Z-tube

Hello everyone..I am a new owner of a G35 coupe. i've been browsing the forums here for the last few weeks and seeing what enthusiasts have to say about the car. I've been noticing more people have been saying to go with a Z-tube. I tried looking at other posts, but couldn't find the answer i was looking for, so i thought i should ask. If i just replace the stock intake with the Z-tube, do i have to get the pop-charger as well? i would like to maximize the power of the car without making it sound that much louder than the stock sound. Would i have to reset the ECU if i placed in the Z-tube? Also, would my warranty be voided? thanks everyone for reading!

1. No, you do not need to get the pop charger. You can install the z tube by itself.
2. Its only loud if u WOT. All you will hear is the exhaust at low rpms.
3. Yes, you should reset the ecu.
4. No, warranty will not be voided.

Hope that helps

When you press the happy pedal(gas pedal) to the floor. That is called wide open throttle.

It was a good question... I had the same dilema recently.

I have a 2004.5 Coupe and I installed the Z-tube and a K&N Drop In filter after I got through the break in period. The tone of the car changed only slightly (a little more agressive which I like). It is mainly noticeable when you really get on the car. The install was cake and it might of added some horse power to the car, but that is really debateable.

It is a great mod and I recommend it. I have yet to reset the car's computer but I do plan to.

Happy modding...

u can unplug the battery for about 5mins and it should do the job, or u can look in the FAQ section on this forum and there is a thread about resetting the ECU.

I've heard that if you go with unplugging the ground from the battery, you have to leave it unplugged for 12 hours. I am not sure if this is valid anymore, but it is the last I heard.

I read a post on here that said if you simply drive the car the ECU will reset itself after a while.

The ECU will not reset after 5 mins it has to be 12 hours. Go to the tech forum there is a quicker way to do it. You have to follow the procedure step by step in order to reset.
