Back Seat Won't Engage Latch

I just installed a 300/4 on the backside of my backeat in my Coupe and when I try to reengage the back seat into the locked position it doesn't stay. The indicator button on top just moves down when I push the seat back.

I tried to move around the working parts for the latch cable assembly but nothing seems to work. I had a much larger amp installed before and had no problems. Is this common with JL amps? Help!

Are you saying you think it's the brand of amp that keeps your back seat from engaging the lock? I think you need to get in the trunk with a flashlight and see if anything is touching the amp when the seat back is closed.

I know that's what it sounds like but it didn't give me any issues with my BMF Soundstream amp. I finally took the JL amp out and it closed just fine. I think when the amp was screwed down it pressed on the release cable which kept the latch open. I was thinking about putting in spacers maybe. My drill crapped out so my batt is charging.

Interesting... perhaps it does have something to do with the cable. GL let us know if the spacers work.

Now that makes sense to me. Sounds like you have it under control (once you get a recharge). I just picked up a 500/1 so I'll have to watch out for this also.

I moved the amp up an inch or so. It fixed the issue.
