I wouldn't for exactly one of the reasons you are thinking about. I wouldn't want to be driving around my brothers car. Especially with a Phoenix yellow car. There's no mistaking who's car that is and I would feel weird taking over driving it. I'd want to make my own statement with my own car and with my own mods.
But I have seen his car and driven in it and its pretty sweet but still....I wouldn't do it.

i dont know why but the bmw 3-series is just too plain on the interior....sure its a great car but make sure you drive it first i always loved the 3 series until i test drove my friends and noticed how uncomfortable my seat position is.....i thought the m3 would be a little different but i just felt uncomfortable and until this day i cant even sit comfortably in the passenger seat! as for trading up....the things you wrote made sense but also think about maintenance and insurance price increases .....then again IMO a g35 is enough for anybody

Your reasoning is the same as mine for not wanting it. Its a bright yellow car, you cant miss it. Furthermore, its a bright yellow M3, even harder to miss. Im sure everyone around your town knows that its your brothers car, as I'm sure most people know you have a G. When I bought my fathers car from him, the first few days of talking to him about "my" car was kind of odd, because I mean, hey, Im driving what a month ago he refered to as his baby. If you can deal with that, and in my case, my father lives 45 minutes from me so its not like his car would be "known" around my parts, I had no problem with the deal. That and I had no problem being able to buy and afford a G35 =). In your situation, how much do you like driving stick, because if you really enjoy it, its not worth it. 99.9% of what I like about this car is its clutch. It just makes the driving experience feel that much better. While Im not gonna sit here and knock on the SMG II system, as Im sure its performance is above average for a "clutchless manual" system and Im sure the car is a blast to drive, to me, it wouldnt feel right with my left foot resting on the dead pedal during gear changes.
