After-market stereo
I have just ordered my LR 6MT with the premium package and of course the 225W Bose system. However, I'm not too impressed with the stock head unit. Has anyone tried to install their own? I have a Kenwood that I really don't want to part with and would love to add it to the coupe. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas or should I get on ebay and sell the unit?

Do Search.... they pretty nice on this forum, they will nicely tell you to do a search........
Basically what it comes down to is, if you got the $$ anything is possible. People are putting tv screens in the cubby where the nav would have went, and it pops straight up. Besides that.... no options... at this time.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've seen alot of talk about the tv's in place of the navi but not too much of the head unit being replaced. I just wasn't sure if it was even possible..that's all.

Thanks man, I've heard its possible....but really don't see how bc the 6 disk changer is right there also....so basically you want to put in your own dash, and add another cd changer.... damn...that's alot of work and $$, sucks man.....

From what I've seen here and on other forumns is that people are changing out there speakers and amps. The head unit is to customized to replace.
I've read another post in another forum that just changing out the amp can make a real big differnece. Even with the factory speakeres. Then thread went on to say that this individual then tried to change his speakers with some he purchased on e-bay and any gains on good sound were lost. The moral of the story is to go to a profesional installer and get their take. (not Bust Buy)

Well I guess with the money I'll have after selling my Kenwood, I can just buy a decent amp and maybe another sub. I'm so used to the bass thumping and the tweeters screaming in my other car (Acura CL) that hopefully replacing the amp will achieve the desired effect. We'll see.
