Front Plate Removal question...

Heres the deal. Retiring the Vanity Plates and going with a old Massachusetts plate. Why you ask? Simple

Massachusetts plates with green lettering (old plates) do not require a front license plate. My father is willing to give his up.

Problem: Just went to go remove the front plate bracket and there is a hole!!!!!! What is the problem?

You should have the plug somewhere in your trunk maybe? That or your dealer stole it! Either way your car is suppost to have a piece that goes in there....

Re: Front Plate Removal question...

WRAH's correct.........
If you do not have a front plate....there is a piece that fits there and is color matched to your car.....if you look, you will see that is where the tow hook, (which should be in the truck with your jack and so forth) attaches if you need to tow the car from the front end......

If you can't find yours, go back to the dealership, I bet they have a ton of them in each color........

They should have put yours in your glovebox or console....

Re: Front Plate Removal question...

hey i want to remove my front plates to.....i thought they might haved drilled some holes........is the square hole the only part that has to be covered? so if i ask for this and put the square back in, would it look like all those other cars without the front plate? or would there be some drilled little holes?

Re: Front Plate Removal question...

Ximer.....
most of the front plate assemblies require the dealer to drill two (2) holes on either side of the tow hook cover, so in fact if you have the dealer installed plate, most likely you have two additional holes drilled in your bumper cover......

You probably could have them filled,.......but since its quite flexible, you may have a hard time keeping the repair from showing.......
