Is it possible to install a 350z power window motor in a G35 coupe?

Just wondering if the same power window motor is used in both the 2004 350z and 2004 G35 coupe. Anybody know? There's only 1 Infiniti dealership where I live and I don't want to get raped.

mikkyfikky...hahaha. you must be a fan of the edited version of do the right thing. "those sneaky korean mickkyfikkies!!".

sorry about being off topic. you have a very good question and the best way you can find out is to call both nissan and infiniti parts departments and ask them for a part number for the window motor. if they match, then they are interchangeable.

For anybody who wants to know, talked to an inifiniti parts guy and it is the same motor used in both the 350z and coupe. And he said they go through alot of them... so if you don't want to get bent over by your local infiniti dealership, check the nissan ones...

Good find on the window motor, none of mine have gone out yet... did they happen to mention if the motor is the same for sedans?

to my knowledge, it is not the same motor used in the Sedan. The 350z and coupe have the special window auto-up/down 10 mm "feature" when the door is opened and closed. There is also a reset button on it to re-calibrate the window.

For the second time in 5 years I had to visit my Infiniti dealership Friday, my drivers door wouldn't lock. Made a appointment for 2 PM and I was home by 4:30, not bad for a 30 minute job. No charge....extended warranty. Everyone I know that has a Z has issues with the window motors, average seems to be around one a year....

The window should only move a centimetre or so when the door is opened or closed. To re-calibrate, there is a black button on the power window motor. It is not that easy to get to so refer to the service manual. Here are the general instructions from the manual:

Resetting
1. Raise the glass to the top position
2. While pressing and holding the reset switch, lower the glass the bottom position.
3. Release the reset switch, and check the reset switch returns to the original position, and then raise the glass to the top position.

Anyhow, these motors are crap and underpowered... I actually took one apart to see what was wrong. The brushes were worn out after 30K... Someone needs to build an aftermarket product more durable as these motors are junk and Nissan/Inifiniti bend you over on price for one of these.
