recall on 06 engine?
i know you can get a new engine if you have problems with oil consumption...but on another forum some guy is trying to sell his g35, he said that there was a recall on the engine and he got a g37 engine dealer installed....is this possible?
heres the quote from the other forum:
"This thing is in mint condition, fully loaded with a 6 speed manual transmission. It's been babied since the day it left the lot. It still has tags on the upholstery, 20" staggered wheels; 20x9.5" front and 20x10.5" in the rear, 3 piece grill, navigation, moon roof w/ tilt, bluetooth compatable and no dings or dents. Tires have good tread life. It has one tiny scratch on the rear bumper but will be fixed before being sold. This car also has only 12,000 miles on the chassis and a brand new dealer installed G37 motor (recall on 06' motor). asking 30k or best offer. contact at 302-241-1527 and pics are available upon request."

yeah thats what im saying, its not like they dont make the rev up engine anymore....that would be pretty cool though if they started doing that, everyone would be going to the dealership saying they are burning oil haha

Heh, no. There is no recall on the engine. This guy may have had the engine replaced because of the oil consumption issue, but it would be a VQ35DE Rev-Up. I wish I lived in a world where dealers put G37 engines in our cars.
