The Aging G...Clear Bra?!?!
My G's front end looks like @$$...
there are small chips here and there...very much like other members have complained about...
the questions i have are...
is it too late to get a clear bra....i'd obviously have to get some touch up work done before it...
how much does it cost..
new bumper???
OEM cost?
aftermarket cost??
please help....especially if you're in or have been in my predicament
thank you

Re: The Aging G...Clear Bra?!?!
Just apply 2+ coats of auto polish. How many miles are on your car (and when did the chips start)? I apply 2 coats of Zaino every 3 months, I have almost 8,000 miles on my G, I drive on most rugged highways 4+ days a week and my front end is as clean as day 1.

Re: The Aging G...Clear Bra?!?!
Hmmmm....."is it too late"? Well, the clearbra will keep it from getting any worse...........if that helps at all. If the bumper is filled w/ hundreds of rock chips, then I recommend getting it repainted and then putting a clearbra onto the car.
As a matter of fact, I purchased my coupe back in last September and put the clearbra on the hood, fenders, and mirrors only.............too busy @ the shop to spend another 2 hrs for the bumper. So I held off on it, until one day, a huge piece of debris got kicked up from a truck ahead of me and took a half dollar sized mark............it was down to the primer. I repainted it a month later @ a friend's body shop costing me $200 (dealer's cost.......retail's about $400). I put the bra on a month after I repainted to ensure enough time to have the paint cure.
Long story short..........get a clearbra as soon as you get the car!

Re: The Aging G...Clear Bra?!?!
some people report not needing CB after the thicker repaint. I dunno, but repainting may kill two birds with one stone. I would consult the body shop about that. They mix the flex agent and can tell you what they can do.
Or you might be able to get the chips airbrushed, then put on a clear bra. I hear a good airbrush guy can work miracles. a 'good' one that is.
