Driver's door lock not working

When I hit the lock/unlock buttons, the passenger side locks and unlocks, but the driver's side doesn't do anything. I can use the key just fine. Any ideas what might be wrong? I guess I'll be tearing my door panel off soon.

The power lock acctuator is dead/dying it needs to be replaced with a factory one ($200+) or an aftermarket one ($25-50)

Both mine die only when its 90 degree or more, otherwise they work normally. This is my main reason for not deleting my keyhole. key hole FTW!

That's what I figured...

I had a '90 300zx that didn't have remote keylock, so I've never had to deal with this, but I assumed that's what it was. I just wanted to see if anyone else had the same issue and had resolved it. I guess I'll be looking for an aftermarket one - not paying $200+. There are better things to spend $200 on. :-)

Now I just have to sell the Z :-)

So how do I remove the door panel to access the actuator? I could get my Z panel off in 5 minutes, but just got the G last night and haven't done my homework yet.

Replacing the door lock actuator will take you a lot more time than 5 minutes. You have to remove the door panel, metal door piece, and the window. I had both of my actuators replaced. The actuators are expensive running aobut $150 each....a friend of mine installed a $20 universal actuator which stopped working within weeks...so I went with OEM.

I can relate. I bought the car ahead of "schedule" against the advice of council. The wife's Land Cruiser isn't paid off until February, which is when I was "supposed" to buy the G. But my Z's A/C hasn't worked in years, and my new consulting job has me visiting client sites, and you can't show up sweaty... that's just unprofessional :-) Picked up the '05 with Aero package for $18k. But the dang door lock problem didn't present itself until the next day.

Ima gonna just fiddle with what's there and see if it's something that can be fixed. Hell, I never locked my Z unless I was someplace scary or had my laptop in the car.

Same situation here. It all started with my driver side door where that wouldn't lock. I have the Viper alarm with the remote start installed on my G35. When I would deactivate the alarm, only the passenger side door would open. Sometime went by and now both doors do not work. 07SilverG maybe on to something with the 90 degrees or above. Just this week temperatures have peaked to over 90 degrees and BAM..doors do not lock automatically. This seems to be an issue with the G35 if all of us are having the same issue!
