Gas Tank Problem Fixed

Gas Tank Problem Fixed
I have had problems filling my gas tank since I bought my G35C a month ago. The pump would shut off 10 to 20 times every gallon. When I went to the dealer, they tried their pump and it worked fine.
When I went to the dealer a second time their pumped worked OK again, but I had them take it to a local gas station and it would not work for them either.
The dealer contacted Infinity. Infinity had them run anumber of tests and they determined that there was a problem with a valve in the neck of the tank and that the tank needed to be replaced.
I stoped at the gas station today, for the first time since getting the car back, I was able to fill the tank at full speed without a problem.
I know others have had problems filling their tanks. It is not operator error and it can be fixed. If your dealer does not know what to do, have them contact Infinity.

Re: Gas Tank Problem Fixed
Mike,
I suggested this some time ago here and on F/A to no avail. I've not had the problem with this ride, but a previous ride ('98 Contour) had the same issue, and the fix gave the same results.
Like yours, the valve at the bottom of the filler neck was faulty and had to be replaced. On that car just the valve was replaced. Looks like on ours it requires the whole tank.
Thanks for sharing. This will help many G drivers.
