06 Automatic: Manual Shift mode

I just got a 06 auto coupe and was interested in trying out the manual shift mode. I dont want to mess anthing up so I was hoping for some help with this. Can anyone tell me how and when to shift the tiptronic properlly during normal driving? (not race speeds)

Thanks,

Dan

Just as you would in a manual.

Did you get a owner's manual with your car?

You'll have to work pretty hard to screw up using manual mode.

From a stop, slide the shifter to the right and hit the gas. When the revs seem right, bump it up a gear and continue until you're in fifth.

From a roll, slide the shifter to the right, but be aware that your tranny is going to drop you down a gear. If you bump into MM in fifth, it'll drop you to fourth, etc.

Mess with it and you'll get the hang. It's a great tranny and lots of fun. You really can't screw it up.
