awful hesitation

When ever i go to pass someone and floor it from say 65-70mph, my car hesitates before it gets right! it does it for like a full second or 2, this is annoying! should i make a trip to the dealer? anybody know whats the deal?

~Thx!

It's a 5AT. You want to control your shift speed? Get a 6MT. Enough said.

lol @ replies.

Honestly, I have an auto, it shouln't be that bad, 2 seconds.

Try it out in tiptronic see if your throttle response is quicker. I would take it to the dealer though if it doesn't seem like it use to

HAHAHA love how autos get bashed to all hell and back... your car is definately NOT 2 seconds slower than a manual G... racing to the qtr 6mt vs 5at should be similar given that the 6mt will need an extra shift while the 5at will end the qtr in 3rd gear @ high rpm...

if you are having a 2 second lag before you take off... take it to the dealer... @ the same time.. i hope you realize that your car is VERY slow these days on the streets

Umm... my room mate has a 04 auto.. no mods (not for power anyways)... and all he has is GTSpec bars (all of em)... he can run a 14.2 pretty consistently... are you telling me that your 6mt can do a 13.2 stock? even a 13.5? I would like to see ANY stock G35 do a 13.5 stock....

AND FYI:

2. Reidonly ------- 05 - Coupe - 6MT - 14.05@102.35 -- 2.193 60ft --- Verified --- Street ----
3. Dv8 ------------ 03 - Coupe - Auto- 14.37@96 ------ 2.217 60ft --- Verified --- Street ---- ????ft DA
3. 06g35meister --- 06 - Coupe - 6MT - 14.40@96.9 ---- 2.253 60ft --- Verified --- Street ---- ????ft DA

so if you notice... entries 3 and 3(lol should be 4 no?) one is auto and one is 6spd... now these are the FASTEST times posted w/ stock G's in this community... I absolutely DO NOT SEE a 1 second disparity... the other coupe was right at 14.0...

Not to mention, the AT here is not a revup... and the 6mt's are....

6mt is a LITTLE quicker... most of which is 99% of the time made up by a worse driver... so AT = MT + a few 10ths... not 1 or 2 seconds

Should not be happening. In all of the auto cars I've driven in my life, no hesitation before it hitting the gas.

08 Corolla had SEVERE(Sometimes up to 5-7 seconds ) hesitation, but only during the break in period, and when I used premium it had no hesitation at all.
