Painting Wheels

I want to paint my stock 18" rims gun metal. I've seen one or two threads where someone had a DIY. My questions to the people that have done this before is where can I buy good gun metal paint, and what brands are good? When you were spraying how far did you keep the can away?

Here is one of the threads i seen... https://g35driver.com/forums/body-interior-exterior-lighting-diy/203853-diy-refinishing-your-rims.html

Is dupli paint good? Because my friend painted his rims with it and it came out not smooth and bumpy. He said he should have used better paint.

Duplicolor is OK....

If you want them to last (fewer chips), you need to use a good two part automotive paint. Better yet, look around for a powder coater in your area.

I just used a really good primer, and then used a good paint, then took the rims to a shop and had them spray them with a clear coat, rims lasted 2 years with out any chipping. When I sold them, they looked just as good as the day that I painted them. And I used all walmart paint on them.
