well, my sister is going off to college next year and i might give her my 5at cb coupe and get a new 6mt coupe if i get a job. if i go to the same dealer that i got my 5at coupe from what kind of deal should i expect to get? they should cut me some slack since i already paid them 40 grand for a car less than a year ago. i'm planning on getting a fully loaded black 6mt coupe, i was just wondering how often you guys clean your black car in order to keep it looking pretty. any input would be appreciated, thanks.

lucky sister. I'm washing my black coupe at least once a week even when it doesn't rain. It is the hardest color to keep looking good (TB might be up there as well) but after a nice wash and wax, no one could argue (they could but they would be wrong :-) that there is any color that looks better. The black is worth the trouble for me.

 

to answer your question, i've bought two coupes from the same dealership.. first time, i was already able to get a discount off of MSRP, which was rare back then.. the second time, they were pretending to be firm on MSRP, but once i walked out and got into my car, they ran after me and gave me an awesome discount.. i still hear that some people are still paying close to, if not, MSRP.. it really depends on where you are.. either way, jus price haggle.. the 6MT will be a little harder to deal, but it's definitely possible..

I got 2 G35c from my dealer within 8 months period of time and I got about $1500 off msrp. They were both 6 spds and there would not have been any discount if I wasn't a returning customer.

Oh and also my first G was Black Obsidian, and now I have a Twilight Blue. They're both bi*ch to keep clean but I love both colors. Can't go wrong either way. Good luck!

I'm curious why you both bought a second coupe within one year of buying your first - could you elaborate? Did you trade in your first G to the dealership or sell it privately? If you traded it in, what % of the original cost did the dealer give you?

well, i went to my local dealer. they basically told me they could take $500 off. when i bought the first coupe last may, they didn't discount a penny. i don't know what i should do. i was hoping to get a discount of about $1500, but i'm not sure its possible. i called grubbs and they told me they could discount about $1,000. i told them i'm a freshalloy member, but i completely forgot my username and password because i never post on that forum. do you think grubbs would still ship the car to me for free? thanks.
