Mirror rattling??

Does anyone else have a problem with the rearview mirror making a vibrating noise? Mine started out only making the noise when I would hit a bump or pothole, but now it's occuring almost all the time. If I hold the mirror steady, the noise stops. Any suggestions as to what I can do to fix this problem?

Re: Mirror rattling??

I had this problem also. My dealership is outrageously inept so I knew that I would have to take care of the problem. The rattle for me and at least one other person was the buttons on the bottom. They don't sit snuggly against the little pressure pads that activate the garage door openers/ auto/ off buttons.

I just cut out very tiny little squares of foam and taped them against the little rubber switches and the problem was solved.

I would advise taking it into the dealership if they do good work because getting the cover off wasn't the easiest thing to do. Breaking the mirror will cost you about ~$170.

However, if you're good with your hands, you can use a putty knife and pry the bottom of the mirror until it comes loose. Once inside, you'll see exactly what I'm referring to. Hope this helps you or you might take this in to the tech who will be working on your car.
