i don't understand that much...
hey guys, i know there's probably a post on this somewhere, but i don't feel like looking right now. what i wanted to know is why do you unplug the battery? i've read a few posts about it, but i can't really get why. also i guess i don't really understand because i didn't hear anything about doing so... dealers haven't said anything to me either. sorry to ask... but can someone explain to me please?

it's okay, we understand- you're a girl (hehehe)
you want to unplug the battery so the transmission un-learns it's learning algorithm- basically, over time it adjusts to your driving, and unless you're going at WOT(full throttle) 100% of the time, it's going to think you like to drive slowly, thus will affect shifting performance (only for an auto i think). unplugging the battery overnight basically clears it's memory so it starts off fresher- the result, maybe a tad increase in speed (if it really learnt poorly over the course of the time) and chrisper shifts.

Re: i don't understand that much...
hey gal, In the Coupe the windows jog up when the door is closed to seat the window firmly and tight. Likewise when the door is opened , the window jogs down 1/4" so that the window won't catch on the door frame. Both those jogs take electrical power so if the batt is disconnected you could do some damage to the window and frame when opening and closing the doors.
But like I said, that's only on the Coupe. Is that what you're waitin' on Princess?

Re: i don't understand that much...
this applies to both, something to do with the memory since closing the door will trigger a switch to roll the windows up tight, now if you disconnect the battery while the door is close you make sure that the door is closed when you connect it again..(it says in the manual)

Re: i don't understand that much...
thanks alot! yea in the showroom i the coupe's windows were a little bit down and when i got out and shut the door the windows went up... i saw that part. now i understand the whole thing about rolling the windows down. but no matter what kind of transmission you have it still applies.

but i know i can wait... i just can't wait until it comes so i can drive around with the windows down and everything.
