i say you did the right thing.. why get a custom paint job and crazy body kit w/o anything to back it up? you want to look good and lose to a 5 series?

show cars and clumpy body kits are stupid without the performance to back them up. Performance is the most important part of modding. The newbs go for exterior and ricey mods first.

All show and no go is kinda lame. I'd agree with your route.

honestly I think even a boosted stock-looking G on OEM 18's with is wayyy better than any stock-engine G on widebody.

and honestly your exterior is hardly stock, your friend just laughed prolly cuz he has a sh*tty car and can never even dream of smoking your a$$, haters.. he prolly doesn't even know what a KurumaZ fronts and Impul Sides look like :P

I would definitely go the same route as you if I had that much expendable income. But since I'm still a college student, I'll buy my exterior mods first, then once I get more money, I'll go with the FI.

I started with a bunch of performance mods then did visual mods approximately equivilant to my level of performance mods. Like many here, I would have done exactly what you did if i had deep pokets. ;-) Your friend must have been a ricer or something. =P
