2005 with 51,000...too many?

What do you think of a private dealership selling 2005 g35 coupe with the headlights have been changed to an 06 and debadged to say skyline and 350gt.

It has 51,000. They are asking 24000, but i know i can get it down cheaper, or maybe an even exchange.

Should i be weary of the 50,000 miles?

Warranty lasts for 1 more yr or 60,000 miles.

It is black on black and manual...which i love

I think that price is too high, myself. Only because I'm in the market for an '05 as well but I'm getting mine for around $21-22K for the same mileage.

my only problem is the 50,000 miles. They said it was a lease and it was returned to Infiniti, and this place Rose auto sales said they bought it from infiniti.

I got my 05 sedan w/45k miles for $18,000. clean title. There's a few paint scratches here and there though. I don't know why but the coupes are always a little more expensive. Definitely knock that price down.

Honestly..I'd stay away from any G that has been modified. Who knows what else they played with. I'd find another one and do the mods yourself. Just my .2

He didnt change the headlights? Seems like the corner lights and the rear badging have been changed though.

Any mods you can tell from the body or anything?

Why would infiniti sell it to Rose auto and not just try to sell it to themselves?

Thanks!

Yeah they changed them joints. those are 06+ projectors for sure. 05-06 do not have the same headlights.

if it doesn't have the oil consumption problem, i wouldn't worry too much about reliability... mine has 65k, and it's still going strong.

the price, however... not so good. if they're not going to drop 2-3K, i'd find another car.

As far as mods, you can't really screw up the car with anything short of turbo/supercharger. The only thing being, if it's modded, it's probably been beat on a bit.

personally, i like to try to find a car that has a well known maintenance history, an owner who knows what they're talking about, and if your gut feeling tells you it's been taken care of. Used vehicle purchase is always a gamble though.

has the oem front lip. and you didn't mention it also has navi. still, 24k is too high. i'd say 22k wouldn't be a bad deal, since it comes with 06 hlights, oem front lip, and navi.

So it has an OEM front lip? Did they install it themselves? Would they weld it on or something? So the lights are also changed...u think it would have any problems?

Basically i do not know the previous owner, as this is a private dealership.

So if all they did was change the badge, oem front lip and corner lights and those headlights...should i be worried?

Thanks guys!

I hope it hasnt been raced or redlined before..

O, and how do i see whether it has oil consumption problems? Anyway to tell?
It still has about 10,000 miles left on warranty.

those are simple installs. i've taken my headlight out and put it on several times. shouldn't be a problem. same with the clear corners, very simple install. the oem front lip is held on by screws and double sided tape, there is no welding. i put mine on as well. shouldn't be an issues with those parts.

I wouldn't buy it unless they sell it to you for $19k. It was definitely owned by a enthusiast. Who knows what other mods were done to the car.

Inspect it. Be careful of the oil consumption issue. For $24k you can get an 06 with lower miles!
