Top of lug nut just snapped off!! Covered by warranty?

So one of my wheels was making some noise and I could tell the lugs were loose so I tightened them and then decided to just do it all around. When I get to the back right tires security lug I start to put a little pressure on it and the tire iron just falls to the ground. For a second I was puzzled till I saw the top of the lug sitting right next to it. I never occurred to me this could happen so does anybody know if this is covered under warranty? I attached a picture of the lug I will try and take some pics of the wheel later if anyone is interested it is probably pretty funny if you are not me.

Happened to me the first time I tried to take off a wheel lock. I went to them and they replaced it for free, hopefully they do for you too.

Nut "FAILURE!"

Since you're working on your car now might be a good time to invest in some
quality tools. Taken care of they'll last a lifetime, Craftsman tools from Sears
are good since you're not a full time mechanic. One of the first things I'd buy
would be a Torq Wrench and by setting it at 80# you'll never break another
lug nut. Never let anyone install your wheels without using a torq wrench, this
one thing will save your lugs and brake discs.

It's worth asking at your local dealer. Worst they can say is no. It's cheap for them so they may just give it to you as a courtesy.
