cold air intake

hey i just bought a 2005 5at coupe.. I was looking at getting a cold air intake, but I heard something about a Z-Tube.. What exactly is that and does it have anything to do with a Cold air intake system??

ztube lets the air flow better then our stock gtube i think..

Z-tube really only has to do with sound. It's pretty much like your stock tube but without any sound baffles.

It's the tube that is stock on the 350Z, that's all.

As far as intakes, look at Stillen. There's comes with a Z-tube plus their velocity stack and heat shield.

Another option is the Z-tube and the rest stays OEM.

So to get the stillen would be like 2 birds one stone type thing??.. sorry i dont know too much about engines and what not lol

Yeah, it's a complete intake "system".

oo ok.. thanks alot.. O and my friend put a cold air intake into his 350z and now whenever he revs past like 3000 it sounds like a supercharger opening.. is that just what cold air intakes do? cause it sounds pretty crazy

Well I doubt that's quite what it sounds like. With CAIs there can be and usually is a slight whistle sound. It's normal.

EDIT: Incidentally, I have a pretty much new K&N filter for sale.

what are the 2 intakes notorious for stalling at high temps again?

it does have a whistle sound..sounds like a turbo for like 1-3 seconds lol..but when you go WOT pass 5-6 RPM it makes a mean growll..kind of hard to explain lol...but i bought my Polished Fujita intake for $155 shipped on ebay

OP, you should really try an K&N filter in your OEM box first.
