black or ivory pearl?

I'm buying a coupe this week. The dealer I went to has 2 6MT coupes fully loaded with nav, aero, premium...the whole deal. One is ivory pearl the other is black obsidian. I understand the maintenance that will come along with the black, and I'm up for it, I just don't know which one looks hotter! Any Comments?

Re: black or ivory pearl?

i say get the ivory pearl, as you know it'll look cleaner longer, and it's an understated "hot."

I went through the same torment. I ended up with Pearl. It's a matter of:

1) Pollen, dings, scratches, water marks, and fingerprints show with Black (particularly pollen), but nothing looks better for the first 20 minutes before the pollen gets it.

2) Bugs, road grime, tar, plain dirt show with White, and it looks pretty good for a few days.

Pick your poison.

Go with the Pearl.. My last vehicle was black and it was a PAIN in the butt. If you are nit picky then Black will do nothing but frustrate you. Black is beautiful, but it shows every ding and nick. Regardless of which one you get make sure you get the clear bra, it's well worth it.

I have a black coupe and my cousin has a white coupe and honestly both of them are great colors. Its a hard choice but I prefer darker colors when it comes to coupes they look more sporty.

Re: black or ivory pearl?

i think many of us had this problem before we bought our cars. i went with black cuz it looks too damn sexy.
white is more the sophisticated classy type. looks damn hot with dark tints. someone on the forums has a nice stock IP coupe with tints in their sig.
the black looks more agressive and sleek. but in return its a lot harder for upkeep. i washed my car and drove 30 minutes. i assume all the little dots all over the car is the pollen but its still shiny and turns heads. i can't keep my eyes off my car when it's this shiny.

Re: black or ivory pearl?

black, per se, is a hot color no matter what your car is. black on the coupe, its badass. white is classy, sexy, brings out the shape of the coupe which we all love, even when the sun goes down.

take note, though black is hard to maintain, white is not much different. they have diff dirt problems. dust on black, black stains (oil, grease, dirt) on white. both shows easily.

Re: black or ivory pearl?

I'm in the same boat. Black does look great! I've seen a couple around town... ...very wicked!

But I have a black car right now (my POS transport), AND I live in the desert of West Texas. As long as I live out here, NEVER AGAIN will I own black. Too damn hot and too hard to take care of, IMO.

I'll be going with white, provided a killer new color isn't introduced for the next model year. Some bronze Volk CE28Ns should bring some sportiness to the game.

Anyone know of any carbon fiber front lips or side aero available? All I'm finding is a rear spoiler and hood.

Re: black or ivory pearl?

Ive got the black and love it, but it does show dirt BAD. everyone knows that. Another point I hadnt thought about- white looks really good with gunmetal wheels. Either way you cant lose.
