New To Forums..

hey guys im new to the forum..

im looking at a 2003 Silver G35 2dr coupe with 96k, clean titile. its an automatic and the person who is selling is first owner, the only thing that they fixed on it was both motors for the window.i was hoping to find a 6spd but oh well, i dont have pictures of it uploaded, but once i do, ill post them on here. The person who is selling it is asking 13,000, which i found a little overpriced. Uhm is there some more stuff that i should be looking at? are the 03 g35 good car to buy?

thanks

If you only wanna spend 13k on a G you shouldn't buy one. Gas is expensive, You need premium and will only get 16-18mpg in the city. Modding is expensive for this car. Tires and rims are expensive, and so is service, along with any problems you have, including the window motor problem.

'03 has a lot more problems than the later years since it was a first year model and not many of the kinks were worked out. And if your getting auto, you don't get the Brembos. Either save up, or look into other cars.

Buying a used G35

If your goal is to own an inexpensive car then the G35 will not be low cost to own. However, if it is the "type" of car that you are looking at then nothing in the category will be inexpensive to own either. BMW, Benz, Lexus....all of them will have higher than average maintenance costs. I just bought a 2004 coupe a few weeks ago with 64k on it for $16,500 which was a good deal. But I went into it wanting a G35 and realizing that it would cost a little more to run and maintain. My previous car was a 2004 Accord coupe that averaged 30 mpg on regular, now I'm at 20 mpg on premium, again, I knew this ahead of time. I work at a dealership and know that ALL cars are a money drain no matter what you buy, especially with 90k+ on the odo. So just decided if you are going for the car itself or economy and that should tell you what you need to do. I absolutely love my car and the higher costs don't bother me too much but everyone is in a different situation.

yah i see what you guys are saying, im in it for the car, i had a 04 350z, i just wanted to get a g35 becuase i wanted backseats lol, im not really going to be modding it or anything. maybe just rims and tint and thats about it. but overall im just wondering, since 03 was the first yr they came out with it, what major problems did it really have? the window motors on the car that im looking at are already fixed.

I say try to find a manual...so much more fun. As far as the model year is concerned I would not worry about the 03. I bought my 03 new and I have over a 100K on the odometer with no major problems.
