Yeah, 168 style bulbs (also known as W5W) are the ones for your rear license plate bulbs. But if you want those blue-output lights, make sure it is a very dark coat of blue, such as like the PIAA 168's otherwise the light just won't look blue at all. First I purchased a pair of Philips Blue Vision W5W bulbs that feature a light coat of blue, but when they were illuminated, the color of the lights was just typical yellowish color. But the PIAA's worked very well.

Re: Lights help (about to order)
There are 2 168 wedge's for the license plate, 1 168 wedge for the trunk, 2 168's wedges for the clearence strips and 2 for the clear corners. The overhead map lights have 2 dome and the door illumination lights are also 2 "dome" lights.
I personally put PIAA Xtreme whites in the corners, clearence, trunk, maplight dome lights, door dome lights(located at bottom of the driver/passenger doors).
I put PIAA Super Plasma (which is a little bluer but still white) in the license plate lights.
I got my wedges and dome bulbs here:

Here is Brian Kincaid's Xcel spreadsheet for all the G35's lighting and bulb specs:

Re: Lights help (about to order)
I just put in my PIAA H4 fogs/hi beams. The specs say HB3, which I assume is the same? Tho I thought HB4 was like H4.
Real pain to install blind, with the wheels on!! So now, above the xenon low beam there is another light; is that the clearance light??? Is that as much a pain to install?
Anyone have ballpark pricing on all these bulbs, and jdm side markers(ebay)???

Clearance lights are easy to install. Do a search for "clearance lights" or "lights" and you should find a DIY.
drivewerks.com has PIAA sets for around $15 which to me is pretty reasonable.
you can get CC's at everythingg35.com for close to $40 I think which is pretty cheap. some places are selling them for $60 which is too mcuh IMO.
