Tire Pressure Light!!!

For some reason every time I drive on the freeway for at least a half hour, usually to school and back on a weekly basis, my tire pressure light turns on. Once I park the car for a little while and get back in it's gone. Not really bothering me but am curious as to why, and how I can get rid of this annoyance. Lemme know guys
Thanks

Tps

This is a little strange, when you drive on the freeway/highway the temp
should rise not diminish. Check all your tires making sure you have the
recommended pressure in all four, s/b 35 LBS. If you continue to have this
issue you might want to drop by the dealership....I dislike going there too!

Do you run on OEM wheels? Could be a couple of things:

1) One of your TPMS (or more than one) may be out. I run aftermarket wheels and the same thing happens but I expect it every time because I do not have TPMS in my wheels.

2) You might just be underinflated but the light wouldn't come on right away because it just takes about 30mins for the light to come on no matter the reason. You could turn your car on, set it in park for 30 mins and the light would come on.

And Gary's right: Higher speeds->higher temps->higher pressure. So being on the highway should be pressurizing your tires.

Good Luck

I have OEM 19s on my 04. I wasn't the one that put them on but I believe they have the OEM tires on them as well. This only happens on the freeway really, never been an issue when I drive around the city all day. I'm gonna check my tire pressure again tomorrow, but last 2 times I checked it it was fine.

i have a similar issue, i was due for tires when it first appeared, but after new tires and stem needles i still get the problem...dealer looked at it and said it checked out fine. still happens on a regular basis, i check my tires on a regular basis now and they remain consistant at 36-psi. Now I was told by infiniti that it may be because of excess pressure which would make sense at higher speeds, but I have the same issue if I do local driving as well. Pressue spec on the door is 35.

I've just gotten used to it as it seems like there is nothing to do about it.

do you drive about 40 miles to school? if so I would say its your TPMS are bad or not there. Happens to me when I drive for more then 40 miles seeing that I dont have TPMS on my wheels.

After 40KMs the lights turn on if you don't have the TPMS.

Heat

Heat from the friction of tire rotation and contact with the road surface will alter tire pressure. Are you rolling @ 35 psi or so?

Can these TPMS trigger at too high of pressure as well as the obvious too low? Just a thought in case there's too much psi at cold. Agree...35psi cold is the way to roll.
