why would the horn not work?

why would the horn not work?
I bought a 2k3 g35 a few weeks ago and buying it I knew that the horn didn't work. I came in the next day when service was open and they fixed it and the service was great and I have had no problems since... However, I just got to wondering, why wouldn't the horn work? I've never heard of that happening and for whatever reason didn't bother asking. A short circuit or something?

Short circuit, burned fuse, harness got disconnected, etc...
