WEBSITE WORKS/ Auto transmission buzz

Well, after trying to find a G35 for months, I finally gave in and placed an order only to have the dealership say that it would take 5 MONTHS (3 months from the date of the order and 2 months to work through the backlog on their list). Luckily, I started using the Infiniti website locator 2x a day and found the car one week later at another dealer, put a deposit down by telephone and picked it up after work (and the dealer I originally ordered from promptly returned my deposit).

I have been driving this sweet car for a few weeks now and other than a wierd buzzing from the transmission every time I first put it into drive (sounds like slipping the clutch in a manual), this car is incredibly fun to drive (as long as I am not bogged down in socal traffic). Great forum. If anyone knows anything about the buzzing, please post.

If it is a few seconds after you start the G ... it is the ABS test. If you are talking anytime you put it in Drive ... I have no idea.

Re: WEBSITE WORKS/ Auto transmission buzz

Welcome to our forum rocketfan.
I've had an auto Sedan and now an auto Coupe and have experienced buzzing noises after initial startup for a few seconds. I put this down to a valve or 2 clattering while the pressure builds. I've also heard this on other automatics (not just Infiniti's)
I personally don't think it's anything to worry about altho I check my tranny fluid level on occasion as well as the power steering fluid level.
My advice is for you to see your dealer and let him see if anything's amiss with the fluid levels, and if the noise is apparant. The power steering fluid is easy to check, but the transmission level is more difficult to get at now due to a clamp that holds the stick in place.
There's been few issues with the A/T's in the Coupe but it wouldn't hurt to make sure everything is ok. Perhaps there's another car that you could drive to see if the same noise is present.
Good luck an let us know how you do...........

hey dude, yeh it's a little 'abrupt' but not harsh. Must be because the idle hasn't settled out and the engine and tranny are cold....... Love this car dude hahahaha
