to my understanding, one of you owes us an explanation.

Why? Is your grill in his hands? Does he owe you money?
To add to Merlin's rant.. the ONLY person who would have a beef with Ducatiguy himself would be MaevRok, and he's already said he's cool. So, why is everyone getting their panties in a knot over this?
A reasonable amount of time to wait would be 2 millliseconds. Then take a deep breath, let it go, and move on with your life.
"Hey, everybody.. this dog took a dump in my neighbor's yard. The dog's owner cleaned it up, and my neighbor said he's okay with the situation, but I think I should go grind the dog into horse chow and castrate the owner anyway, because the dog's owner hasn't apologized to me yet." Alrighty then....

Re: So What Is A Reasonable Time To Wait For Ducatiguy's Explanation?
From MaevRok's "everything's cool now" post, I understood him to say that Ducatiguy would be along to explain. My thinking was that MaevRok might have felt ethically bound based on an agreement with Ducatiguy, and if Ducatiguy breeched the agreement, MaevRok could fill us in. If I misunderstood, I apologize.
I certainly understand that neither MaevRok nor Ducatiguy has a legal obligation to any members here. The way they handle their affairs is their business, although it's obvious neither hired a public relations firm.
ryoken, you have to be aware that this Ducatiguy thing generated as much, if not more interest than just about anything else in this forum. Why the problem with those who are interested in some finality; especially when it was promised. BTW, It appears you are unaware that members can both pay attention to the dynamics of the board while continuing their lives.

Re: So What Is A Reasonable Time To Wait For Ducatiguy's Explanation?
I'm not a huge fan of these ducatiguy threads popping up over and over again, but I would like to know what happened. Ducatiguy was an upstanding guy on this forum before this whole thing happened. And to be honest, Maevrok is the one that turned this into a soap opera. Ducatiguy was still "respected" before maevrok asked for our opinions in the matter. If Maevrok says everything is cool now, then I think he owes it to ducatiguy to explain what has happened. Even if the circumstances are most unfortunate, the damage may be unrepairable for ducatiguy's reputation, so why would he bother posting anymore. He's going to get flamed and attacked every step of the way from this point foward. Not from everyone, but there are going to plenty of wise-asses who will get their kicks in from behind a computer screen.
The way this whole thing has gone down, especially now without any explanation, who will want to do business with Maevrok or ducatiguy in the future?

Re: So What Is A Reasonable Time To Wait For Ducatiguy's Explanation?
Ok I dont mean to throw fuel on the fire but I happen to love ducatiguys grill, and have wanted one since the second I saw it. How bout explaing so the people who would actually want to do business with ducatiguy (because obviously theres a valid explanation to all this drama) can have some way of knowing what the damn deal was? Maverok, everyone on this board was sympathetic to your cause. We all spent atleast sometime during the past few months feeling bad that you, a fellow G enthusiast was without a grill, money or explanation of what happened. Well, now its time for you to explain to us....or atleast something just so we can know ducatiguys whole stance on the issue..... Atleast this way I can find out if pursuing dg for a grill would be a good or bad idea. Ok Im done fueling the fire now. Seriously though, Im to the point where I might just take my second grille choice and say forget it, but just remember mav, u were the one who got all of us involved in one way or another, be it through talking, money, or actual replacement of the grill (next person to say well YOU didnt send money did YOU? please just keep the comment to yourself, Im curious in dg himself, nothing more.) Hell, Mav, if u could just PM me with a Yes/No answer to Is ducatiguy still the guy weve all come to know him to be before this grill situation or is he what weve portrayed him to be?

Z2G...You forgot or probably didn't see my G35 vs The Board of Education of Topeka, KS thread. I guess the Admins deleted it.
And seriously, who do you think actually cares if the G can take on Mike Tyson and Secretariat. I think those questions were rhetorical. Just wanted to see how far I could go with the G vs the world threads...
APC is my weapon of choice.
APC reeks of great taste.

Re: So What Is A Reasonable Time To Wait For Ducatiguy's Explanation?
Let me shed a little light on this situation............Maev has NOT received his grille back yet from DucatiGuy, so although Maev has said he is cool with how things have turned out, this sentiment could certainly be seen as premature given DucatiGuy's track record with this whole situation. Maev seems confidant he will get his grill back, whether this is because he is an eternal optimist, or because of something else he knows, is anyone's guess. Based on an e-mail I received from Maev the other day, his mind seems to be made up that he is NOT going to post anything about this situation until Jonathan posts his side of the story because Maev feels it looks better coming from him. Although I agree with this, it unfortunetly looks WORSE for Maev to not explain to everyone what he knows, and to just tell everyone to "let it go". Like others have said, it is easier for Maev to "let it go" since he knows more of the story - his silence is only adding to the mystery and intrigue (and frustration) in the minds of many. I don't know whether DucatiGuy told Maev that he would post an explanation about this whole mess to this forum in a timely manner, or whether Maev just assumed he would do so, but I personally have my doubts that an explanation will ever materialize. But again, this story is not over until Maev gets his grille back, and I hope at that time he would at least inform everyone that his grille has been returned. This information would go a LONG way to helping everyone move beyond this matter.............and a picture of the now-infamous grille installed on his car would be even better :-)

Re: So What Is A Reasonable Time To Wait For Ducatiguy's Explanation?
I don't understand why people cant just post on here what they want to know or things they want to find out? I mean, who is this really hurting? Certainly not the forum...
