Tires lasted me until my car was totalled at 38k miles. I still had about 5/32" tread left on them.

WOW! I got 30k+ out of the stock 19s and I thought I was doing good. Rears were comletely bald, wearing through the belts. Fronts had tread left, but were too loud due to feathering so I replaced them all with Michelin PS2s. Great replacement tires, but expensive. Oh, and you can rotate them side to side, so no feathering on the front!

I like the PS2s as well but they have very short life. Swapping side to side won't help with feathering as the shoulders stay in the same place, just running in the other direction. The PS1's could be flipped so you could go from an inside to an outside edge.

I got about 16k miles on the tires before I changed wheels and tires together.... rears were getting low, but still had some tread on them... I would think I could have hit 20k on the set I had.

I had 120k on the clutch in my bimmer. That was with chirping and lanching in her younger milage Clutch longevity I believe is determined on how well one can actually drive a manual and of course how much abuse is put on it as well.

Tires have the same story the more fun you have the quicker the tire is gonna go not to mention if you have a soft or hard compound rubber. My tires lasted ~25k miles (kumhos tires) with aggressive driving chipping and sliding

It's all about the driver and he/she drives. If you make minute adjustments to your driving, you can improve MPG, clutch life, and tire life significantly.

OEM Tires (19" Bridgestones) lasted ~24k. Clutch is still going strong....and I drive it pretty hard usually.

I was using the term "feathering" in the way that it's been adopted by the Nissan community, not its true definition. It is a kind of cupping wear on the inner blocks of the tread, in a wedge fashion going circumferentially (is that even a word) around the tire.

Here's a good explanation of what actually happens to Nissans like mine that causes the road noise: http://www.lasercannon.com/Newz/feathering.htm With this type of wear I think swapping side to side will keep the noise in check. Asymetric wear will still happen on the inside, but I'm more worried about the noise since that is why my front tires had to be changed at 30K, not wear.

few pairs of tires for me already, but clutch still original from the 1st I picked up the car and have been putting 125K miles on it. Still runs and slowly pulling away from the new Accord coupe with intake and exhausts.
