I heard this from my dealer when I got my G a few months ago. He basically said that only 1 in 8 G35s sold is a coupe and that 1 in 8 coupes sold is an MT .... Anyone else heard anything like this? I don't need it for any research purposes, but was just curious.

- G35 sedan reported sales of 2,896 units, G35 Coupe reported sales of 2,532 units, FX reported sales of 2,097 units and the QX56 full-size SUV reported sales of 1,194 units
- Calendar year-to-date sales are up 16.3 percent with 41,307 units sold

No breakout of 6mt to automatics, but obviously the difference in sales between coupes and sedans is not that drastic.

 

Based on what he told you, only 1.5% of g35's made are a coupe with a manual. That would mean that ~1,922 infiniti g35 coupes that are manual exist (based that ~123,000 g35's exist).

Now takes that 1,922 and divide it by 50 states (not accurate at all but whatever) and that would mean that only ~38 infiniti g35 manual coupes exist in each state. Wow a g35 mt coupe is as rare as a ferrari! Unfortunately sleezy car salesman just aren't as rare.

Yeah, I figured the salesman was full of it. I has a feeling the numbers were a bit "suspicious". The split between the coupe and sedan numbers seems to be about right nationwide. I think that here in Chicago, the sedans outsell the coupes by a bigger margin. I see way more sedans then coupes. This is probably offset by more coupes being sold in sunny California...

That's a joke. I see at least 5 coupes a day. I know that my city has at least 20-30 coupes residing in it. Small city too (40k population).
