Wait... HOW much to change my lightbulb??!?!?

So for kicks i called infiniti to ask them how much it would cost to change my driver side bulb for my headlight.... $390!!!!


how much is the bulb?.....$350..

those prices sound right???


it took me 15 minutes to change out my own light bulb, and i bought the used bulb from ebay for 50 bucks....crazy...

A new set of HID kit on Ebay (Chinese brand and works well) only $70, the replace bulbs around $30 or so.

Yup, sounds about right, I've seen oem xenon bulbs going for about 250 - 330 each from dealers. Just remember, that's an oem infiniti/nissan bulb, you can always try the aftermarket or ebay for a bulb too. $40 labor for the replacement of the bulb, is about 24 min labor assuming 100.00 hr labor rate, It seems accurate, though you might not want to spend so much and do it at home...

I've never replaced the low beam, but if its like the fog setup, its easy once you get access to the back of the headlight. I think they have a different connector on the HID bulb, so maybe that will take an extra minute or two to disconnect.

You can easily find new Philips D2R bulbs for about $100-150 shipped. Or you can always opt for an Osram bulb which will be about just as good. GE is another main manufacturer, but I've never tried them, nor do I know where to get them...
