Tires seemed to melted.....

Driving through the city the other day ( where they were laying down some new asphalt), seemed that i drove over something hot or a chemical that melted a portion of my front tire...

With my luck, it was the front tire (hardest size to find), so I just ordered a new set (needed new tires anyways ):

Falken fk-452 : 245-40-19 (R) and 235-35-19 (F)

(the 245-35-19 (R) were backordered)

Any suggestions or comments on tire sizing or choice of tire would be great.

Hope these sizes don't set of the VDC to often.

pics of the old tires? Maybe some of the material just melted onto your tire, and the tire itself is still fine.

A local tire/wheel shop took a look at it and recommended it would'nt be worth saving due to the age of the tire itself..

But now my fear is that the new tires don't set off the vdc all day long..

If you go 35 the correct combo is 255/35 and 235/35

Hopefully with a wider tire in the front (235) instead of the stock size, will make the front wheel look less like a stretch...

yeah, thats how the tire shop described it...

Only reason I would describe it like thiswas because it doesn't look like a chipped off piece of rubber, but a gash with rounded edges....
