Burning Rubber Like Smell
I have 2007 G35 6MT. I owned it for almost 3 months now. Car works great, however, recently since I started cranking up the heat in the car (live in Toronto area). While car is moving everything is fine, as soon as I stop on lights or anywhere where I have to run the car and not move for longer then few minutes interior of the cars starts to smell as if a rubber would be burning. U can not smell it from the outside just the inside. It doesn’t matter how fast the fans blow or how high the heat is set to. I was waiting for my gf one day and she came in and gave me ****, she thought I was burning tires before I got to her LOL.
Any idea what that could be?? I am sure it is coming from the vents. But what could that be???

There is a spot that allows the air from outside the car to come inside the car. It is located in the engine bay...on the other side of the glove box. I hope that makes sense. When you lift the hood you'll see a black plastic piece that covers up the hole. I think you need to take the wipers off to remove it.
So check your engine bay for any burned rubber or check that intake part and see if there is anything in there.
The reason I know is I had a windshield replaced and when the guy came to replace it he found a mouse nest in there. Just days prior to this my car would stink whenever I turned on the air.
