I don't think brembos were standard at all. But since your car is an 05 they are defiantly a mod. Make sure the adjuster knows that.

Brembos were standard on 6MTs for 2003-2004 ONLY.

op start looking for the same car with the same options and give or take a few miles on the odometer within a 25 mile radius around the area you car was registered to and that's what your insurance agency will go off of...well that's what they did to mine. i ended up getting more then what i owed

Yes, Brembos were standard on '03'-'04 6MT's. If you see a G with Brembos, you know it's not a slushbox.

Owners complained about the noise, the dust, and the expensive brake pads. Sissies.

having the brembos wasn't cost effective to nissan/infiniti. I think it's about $3700-$4000 just to have it on there. Not too many buyers were too concerned having the brembo name nor having a slight improvement in braking.

Noise was only an issue with the factory pads. Switching out to different pads other than the oems will simply solve the noise and dust.

As for me, I like 'em. It gives it the not-so-sissie-stock look.

I agree that given the design and intended market segment of the G when sold new, most original buyers couldn't care less about having a Brembo system and would actually prefer not to have the extra expense associated with servicing a Brembo system.

$3700-$4000 might be the cost to the you and I to install a Brembo or other BBK system. But when manufacturers by these system in bulk quantities and have them installed on the Tochigi Assembly line just in the same way that non-Brembo brake hardware is installed I can assure you that it probably doesn't cost Nissan more than a few hundred dollars extra to install these systems at the factory.

However, assuming some 20,000 coupes were fitted with the Brembos, even at a factory cost of $500 that still cost Nissan $10 million.

Personally I would rather have the Brembo's than the forged rims on '05+.

Also, regarding the crash, sorry to hear that. However, assuming the insurance co. pays you out in satisfatory fashion, it's probably better that they totaled it. If repairs were that extensive, chances are problems would come up later. Also, you'd be stuck with a hard resale (especially now that there's record of the crash) and diminished value. Good luck on them cutting you a decent check!
