Buying a G35 coupe

hi, I found a G35 coupe that is in my price range but it is in out of state in portland. I am in Los Angeles. I am just wondering if you guys know the process or buying a car from out of state. I would like to fly there and drive the car back. But will i have problem register the car in CA? do i have to pay double tax both at OR and CA? is there a way the seller and I can negotiate write the sell as a gife the void the taxes?
thanks

Ah i hear ya. Yea we have a family business in Mesa and we bought 2 houses around the block from eachother 4 years ago when houses were cheap. We moved from michigan 2 years ago so I kinda go back and forth all the time visiting friends and relatives.

Its horrible around this time. Winter sucks, we get a snow storm every other day and its below zero every day lol, cant wait to get out of here. I currently dont own a G but I will start shopping for a coupe 6mt as soon as I get there, I just sold my Black Turbo eclipse convertible (if you ever remember seeing it around) to buy a G.

As far as taxes go you pay the (sales) tax when you register your car. Unless you live in Oregon or Montana- they have no sales tax. Usually you only have to get an inspection if it is a certain year of car. I have never had to get an inspection on 3 new cars only on 2 that were like 6+yrs old. The place where you register your car will tell you if you need an inspection and if so you must pass inspection before they will register you.
