Re: rear impul spoiler install.

i didn't pay that much, bought it from a guy here on g35driver.

It came with double sided tape, but the guy at the body shop that painted it hooked me up with his own tape, all I had to do was peel and stick.

now that I think about it, with the painting, yeah it was 500 bucks, but it's the only spoiler that floats my 14 foot john boat!

they did the group buy about two weeks after I put mine on.

Chops

Re: rear impul spoiler install.

Does the replica have any disadvantages from the legit one aside from the thought of having a real versus a "fake"?

Thanks!

Re: rear impul spoiler install.

yea, i bought it from them. I havent painted it yet, but i'll make a thread about it when i'm done installing it. as of right now, there is a gap on both sides that i dont like, i'm gonna see if i can try something to make it fit better.

the quality of this thing is alright.they could have done a better job sanding it.this spoiler is really only worth 150 bucks. i give it like 7 overall.

Re: rear impul spoiler install.

Yes, please post. I have the replica too and there is too much gap on the bigger piece. The smaller pieces are not a problem because you can move them flush to the end on both sides. One solution I have in mind is pushing one end of the big piece flush with the end of the trunk(it seems that gap is necessary to follow the gap that exists between the trunk and the two sides of the car) and making an adjustment on one side only. You are right, it is too much gap to ignore. It is a small price to pay for saving 200.00 bucks. I also have the data front lip and am thinking about what side skirts I want to complete the lip. My body shop gave me an estimate of 700.00 to paint everything. Thats almost what I will end up spending for everything. That is a bit much. But I'll see how yours comes up.

Beautiful. Can't wait to install mine. I have the replica and the middle piece is a tad short, but I'll figure it out. Again, nice job.

Re: rear impul spoiler install.

hey, i think i would rather have it symettrical on both sides. i'm just gonna try my best to reduce the gap.maybe pulling the 2 end pieces over the gap between the trunk and quarter panel.look ouy got my thread. should be installed by tonight or tomorrow.

Re: rear impul spoiler install.

Ok, I'll be looking for your install pics. I tried pulling the two end pieces in flush with the big piece for symetry, but it didn't look right because it interupted the line that flows between the body and the trunk. But I'll be looking for your solution. Thanks.
