New front end?
New front end?
It's a sad day in Gotham.
I hit a muffler on I-75 the other night and it did a number on my '04 OB 6MT.
The bumper is trashed, along with all the plastic parts underneath it. Then the thing went inside my engine and wrecked my radiator, and I was leaking coolant all over the side of the highway, so it had to be towed.
It's all covered by my insurance, and nobody was hurt, so I'm not too upset other than the fear of bad body work. I had a lot of scratches and chips in the soft paint anyway, so it's a good time to get that solved as well as a scratch on my passenger door.
My car had the aero kit, premium, all that. How do I explain all the parts that need to be included in the insurance estimate? I left most of the shredded parts on the side of the higway, because some inevitably flew off as I was slowing down. Anything else I should have the adjuster look at?
The mod bug is talking to me though. I just paid it off, and I and the audio/video system inside is set for awhile. I havent done any body or engine work on it, and I think I plan on keeping this car for a couple more years.
So now is a good time to start, with a custom bumper. The adjustor is going to check out the car today, so I won't have much time to research all the different types and read reviews, plus I have a pretty serious model due for Friday which should consume all my time.
My adjustor (Geico) also told me I couldn't request new parts...is this true? I thought in Florida, there was something about this.
What are the price differences? Which are the favorite ones, that drivers are most happy with, considering my coupe is black? Where to buy? I'm most concerned with sound/road noise, and fit. If it's just a couple hundred bucks more than the factory one, I want to upgrade.
Any and all advice is appreciated. Please don't remind me to search the forum, because I will be. I would like to hear the most current opinions and information.
Thanks for your feedback, and happy driving.

Check out our MARKETPLACE there's several styles of bumpers available, make
sure you don't buy fiberglass. Urethane is the only logical way to go
cause they'll survive. Not sure if ericklumzyee has urethane or not but the
Kumura Z bumper is urethane and the fit is perfect....
Like mine!
