He is the only one that I know of that did not like the Borla system; I have it on my 07 Tundra and love it, and had it on m9 97 s/c Mustang GT and loved it. Granted they were both V8's so the sound may be different but I think Gary's issue was with the fit and finish. The 2 systems I have/had had no issues.

I have narrowed it down to Borla, Bassani or FI.

Borla is good but not the one made for our cars IMO.

Borla tends to have bad fitment issues with their catbacks. It gives good gains and I like the sound (drones a bit to much for most though), but it can be a PITA to install if you plan on doing it in your driveway. This has been my experience with them on multiple cars.

If I was buying pre-fabbed I would probably go with a Motordyne setup based on what I've seen/heard and their reputation for quality. Stillen also makes an awesome setup.

Intakes won't do too much for sound other than add a whistling noise when you step on the gas...

Wish I was you! Maybe I've just been unlucky.

i baught a hks system for my 05, sounded good but i hated the big cans. after a week a baught the stillen. i love it, quiet idle and it not really noticible till you hit about 2800 rpm's. then it roars. similar to stock sound but louder, and not super loud either

go for exhaust... yes the stock sounds great... but it can sound even better! borla is great, i have one on mine and i love it.... deeper and meaner than stock but still sounds a bit stock (on the 37 at least)... you'll end up rolling your windows down to listen to that music underneath rather than from your speakers

I have a Borla True Dual on my 06 Coupe right now. I love it. A little bit of highway droning around 1500-2000 RPM but anything above that it sounds like hot sex.

Maybe I'll post a sound clip video.
