can't imagine why you wouldn't. Maybe you haven't turned the VDC off, and it's just not letting you properly lose and control your traction??

The only way you can tell that I know of is if you have a black center console instead of the aluminum brushed one.

NON LSD:

WITH LSD:

Viscous Limited Slip Differential(stock):

You sure about the console thing?? I've seen plenty of 5AT coupes with that kind of interior, but I was under the impression they all came with VLSD? I could be wrong.

The sport ones do... My 03 auto is the "sport" model with the 18's, came with VLSD..

I think the 03/04 coupes with the ugly 17's have no LSD

However, all 6MT's should have VLSD no questions asked.

VLSD is standard on all 6mt packges.

It is only available on the 5at with the sport package (19'' rims) or the performance package (18'' rims).

VLSD is not a stand alone option. If you have a 5at, the only way to get VLSD was to get one of the two mentioned packages.

+1

Over time the limited slip will not work as effectively so that may be what the OP is experiencing. I know mine doesn't.

How many miles on your car?

I am telling u that the VLSD on our cars is garbage.. It eventually turns into an open diff and pretty much stops functioning.. lame Nissan, very lame.

hmmmm...perhaps a fluid change in the rear diff would help? I don't know if he swapped out the diff but I don't think he did....

What kind of fluid did you all use for your VLSD diff??? Car has about 32k miles and has never had rear diff fluid changed that i know of. I'll try that first before pulling it apart to see what the problem is.

Motul 90 PA works good

This would be a good excuse for you to get a SICK aftermarket LSD though

I would do a sick aftermarket LSD, but what are my options/prices?? At this time I don't really wanna spend a ton on it. I would rather just have the one that's "supposedly" in it to work half-decent...My is300 drifted awesome, this car - not so much.

BTW - if it DOESN'T work but is actually in there, is this a warranty issue?? The car is lowered, does that effect the warranty/drivetrain?

I doubt warranty will cover... If you do have it then take it to the dealer and complain that on right turns that one of your wheels keeps spinning out of control and that you think its your LSD gone bad.

Dude, did you turn the VDC off???

The VDC overrides your 'bad driving' by shutting down throttle and uses the abs in each wheel to keep you inline... so you won't break traction... if the VDC unit senses that the car is pointing more than 3 degrees off of your intended target, it will activate itself... and if you car is more than 19 degrees off of intended target, the engine will shut off...

lol...I AM NOT STUPID. I know what traction control is...jesus christ.

The lsd DOES NOT WORK if it's even in the rear diff at this point...I know how rwd works, I know how traction control works, I know all about VDC. Point is, the car will spin the hell out of one tire and the other stays planted. That's not how ANY LSD works...so therefore, I've already concluded one of two things IT doesn't have an LSD, or the LSD does not work.. Bottom Line. It's nothing other than one of those two scenarios.

My next question would be Will changing the fluid in the rear diff help with the situation or is it just permanently messed up?
