Refueling Problem,Not Able To Refuel Car...

Hi,
I was trying to refuel my car (05 G35 Coupe) which had just about 1/4 tank of gas.Suprising the car was not taking any fuel. The fuel pump was stopping.I tried this in 3 different pumps thinking there might be some problem with that particular fuel pump but in vain. Finally I had to manually fillout some gas in the car.Can anyone suggest me what could be the issue and if anyone has faced the same.

Thanks,
Immortal

I'm pretty sure it's the shutter value. I had this problem when I first got my G. It would only fill up half way and the pump would click, and it would just click everytime I tried putting more gas in. I took it to Infiniti, the kept the car for a day, replaced the shutter value, and I haven't had an issue with it ever since.

There was a recall on this issue several years ago, either notify your dealership of the problem or do a SEARCH under
recalls. The answer should be the same.

I have gone to Infiniti for the same problem three time already and I am really getting irritated. I tell you, I just bought this car in December and since then its been in the shop at least 6 times. Its crazy, they replaced the shutter and i took it to gas up and filled it up with 20 gallons, then turned the car on and the gauge read half!!!! So I took it back and they were telling me the floater got stuck. So recently i drove somewhere and read clearly half a tank, then i came out, and read the gauge empty and the light was on. I thought that maybe someone siphoned gas out but I went to the gas station and only 10 gallons fit, and the gauge read half?!?! I don't know what going on with my car.

They replaced the valve is what they told me. They had replaced a few things because I guess there are two compartments in our gas tanks and he was saying that the way they designed the gas tank came with alot of flaws, that its an issue that has been coming up alot. I'm taking my car tomorrow morning to see what they do, I hope they just replace everything, my warranty runs out in April so Im cutting it close, I just hope they fix the problem.

Gauges vs Floats vs Fuel= Headaches!

Now would be a good time to have a conversation with the service manager
letting him know you have major issues with the reliability of your gas gauge
and you want it fixed. If it's a funky float, replace it. I use Red Line fuel
injector cleaner about every 90 days in all my cars just to avoid such issues.
Maybe due to this problem you should also change the brand gas you've been
using....

Gas here in NM sucks big time but thats all we have here. The highest octane we have is 91 and its 10% ethanol. So its kinda weird. But yeah, I need him to change the float because Im not gonna be wasting my gas driving back and forth to Infiniti 120 miles everytime the floater feels like messing up.

I've had this problem before. It happens every so often but when it does, it's highly irritating. I just drive to another gas station. Maybe I'll get it replaced before the warrenty runs out but until then, I just move on to the next station

Well its not the fact that it won't let me pump gas. That problem was solved. Its the fact that the floater gets stuck or the gas gauge starts to act up so when I have a half tank it reads empty. And when I go to fill up it says half a tank. Its so weird, I just didn't expect this to happen with a high quality vehicle like infiniti. Maybe Im just havine a streak of bad luck.
