Yesterday I got a check engone light and today I hit a huge pothole on the way home from disney and bent my rim and flattened my tire. I had a BAD weekend.

Wanted to tell someone. LOL

That sucks about your rim, but as for the check engine light check your gas cap to see if it's tight.

 

That sucks man...I had a friend who just got a brand new QX4 and scratched his rim too...he checked aroundd and it'll cost him ~250 to fix so he just decided to swap it out with the full-size spare rim (do we have a full size too?).

 

Sorry, coupes only come with donuts. Not all sedans have a full-size, either.

sorry bro, that really sucks.. I got a scratch on my rear bumper couple of days after getting the car.. Man it felt like life had to end because of one small scratch, I got it fixed right away..

Does the area where you hit the pothole have liability insurance to cover your damages?
The check engine light was probably a fluke and will go away.

Ouch, that does suck, I'm always on the lookout for those potholes... and the roads seem to be in Bad shape here on OC now adays after the hard rain a couple of times.

Unfortunately, in California our roads will only get worse over time, as our tax money is being put in other places besides buidling new roads and repairing them. With all the abuse and additional road traffic, especially the big trucks our roads all over are beginning to really suffer. And our new rides will have to get damaged by all these pot holes and road hazards such as rocks and torn apart incomplete repavements etc. Our tax money is headed toward more security not much else. Increase population and cars will also impact our roads. If I were you I'd sue the State for damaging your rim.

 

Sounds like a Catch 22.

Get a nice car, people complement you, karma turns it into a beater.

Get a beater, nobody notices, but hey.. it's already a beater.

Thanks for all of the replies. It makes me feel a little better knowing that I am not the only one. As for the check engine, it did go away after I tightened the gas cap. I am getting aqoute on what it will cost to fix Wednesday. I'll let you guys know what happens.

Sorry man. I feel your pain, I just gotta scratch on the front about a week ago. I thought I was gonna pass out. I'll get it fixed though, remember even though even though we forget sometimes it's just a car. Not just any car, but still car. I would try to go after the city for your rim. I met a guy at my last job who got the city of compton to pay for his bent rim do to their idiot roadworkers. Good luck man and keep your head up!

I am going after Disney since it happened on their property. If that fails, it's the city next. I know it's just a car, but when a careless thing like a pothole screws up your rim it's a hastle. Thanks for the advice.
