Side Molding

Did all the cars come with that strip of side molding? I'm looking at 03-05s and some have it but very few do... Does that mean that most have been removed?

I'd obviously remove it but these cars are mostly stock and have clearly just been driven and not touched...

Thanks

I am not sure of the answer, but I park in a garage with tight spaces, and am glad I have it. I have actually seen people kick their doors open into my door, and if it weren't there, it would be a dent. It looks better without it, but it does serve a purpose.

It's a factory option. Looks terrible IMO.

i think it does a pretty good job protecting my G, no dents "yet"...but a few good nicks on the strip.when my gf had my car for a couple of months...god knows where she parked it...

some like it most hate it....im probably gonna take mine off soon.

Looks bad but I agree, they save a lot of dings that I am sure would look worse!

Well here in Dallas they wouldn't do anything to protect it because 98% of people drive massive trucks. The doors are way higher than the strip.

It was a factory option, not standard so most people probably just didn't get it.

i think the molding is much uglier than a few good dents

If I ever saw someone fling their door into my car I would freak out. But thats why I park my car a few spaces away from people and garage keep it at night. To keep her nice a pretty.

It was a factory or dealer option, at least for 03-04, and mine came with them. I actually could go either way on them. I think certain color coupes look good with them, and others don't. On some the car looks too plain without them, on others it looks busy. I happen to like them on my DG coupe, but the ding protection factor is the key, at least for now.
