Yeah dude you're definitely doing the right thing. I spent 4 whole months poking around the forums reading old posts, learning, researching, and when I actually boought my car knew exactly what I wanted and how to do it.

So many people don't take the time to educate themselves (in your case it's not even by choice LOL) and end up wasting money on sh_t they don't really want OR need.

+1 for doing it right the first time.

Ok guys,

Excuse the newbie-ness here. I asked for some help earlier and didn't hear much, so am just gonna re-post here.

I am new to nice cars in general. I'm only 20, and just happen to have a good enough job to get a nice looking cars. I really like the look of this one so I pulled the trigger. I am not a huge driver or car guy, so I'm not in it to try to drive this thing to the ground. Because of this, I'm not going to worry about many upgrades other than on looks.

So I am looking for new tires/wheels(the tread on my current tires is ****ty, I am getting the "slip" thing popping up if I try to accelerate quickly as well). I don't want to give up a bunch of performance or go overboard, so I was going to get some 19's. I was going to get these from Tirerack probably, I assume they are top notch in quality. I don't think I want to get the car lowered, because I don't feel like having to constantly bother with any bumps or anything like that. But I also don't even know where or who I could get to lower it.

So a few questions about wheels/tires:

1) What are the numbers that are generally used on an '06 coupe? I don't want anything aggressive or crazy, just the normal stuff that I could put directly on my coupe without any trouble. By numbers I'm talking about "225/45" that is shown on the front page of tirerack.

2) What price range is good? I mean like on tirerack the wheels start from 128+ for Sport Edition Plus to 1000+ for BBS RS-GT. What is the difference? Is it just because of brand names? I mean is it the same concept as Aeropostale and Abercrombie as in to say the difference between mid-level and high end is simply brand name? Or is there actually a huge difference? What kind've price range is acceptable for most car fanatics for wheels?

3) What should I be looking for in tires? I think I might be able to answer this myself by looking at the FAQs of the tirerack site, so if this is a complex question just ignore it and if you can help at all in the wheels part then it would be greatly appreciated.

FYI, I know some of these answers, but they are generally just answers from random people or people that don't know enough about cars for me to trust them. I would much rather hear opinions from G fanatics

im thinking of adding the mrev2 to my list when i get home....havent made up my mind completely yet...but havent found any reason not to.

seymore4 Apr 25, 2009 02:59 PM

if you're getting the spacer you'll want the MREV2 as well

infg35coupe Apr 25, 2009 03:06 PM

is everythingg35.com the cheapest place to get g35 parts?

seymore4 Apr 25, 2009 03:25 PM

Not for everything. I believe that they had the best price on the MREV2-- something like 389, and riverside infiniti was the cheapest on the spacer.

Check both places and send the guys at riverside an email or something and see if they'll price-match. They're solid dudes.
