LOL good luck with that... I wasn't planning on extensively modding my coupe either... until I started doin it.

I did the MREV2, z-tube, k&N filter, spacer etc.. and then I needed High Flow Cats. I had those on for exactly 3 DAYS and I called Tony up to order the cat-back... seriously man this must be what chicks feel like in the mall:bowrofl:

You can get touch-up paint @ any Nissan dealership and it's usually under $10. I got mine for $8.
:thewave:

I took my girlfriend to the infiniti dealership and had her go to the parts counter and ask... it was free :icon38:

...maybe he likes the way it looks?..

But seriously dude, besides how it looks, there's adsolutely no reason to go with an aftermarket intake. The factory intake and airbox on your car is very well designed and there are a lot of guys who pay $ to upgrade to it. All you need is a Z-tube and filter.:icon38:

infg35coupe Apr 27, 2009 12:19 PM

what kind of filter?

seymore4 Apr 27, 2009 12:21 PM

... K&N

They're like $49 and you can clean and reuse it forever.

I have one. It works great.

infg35coupe Apr 27, 2009 12:37 PM

thanks bro..what u think about my other mods?

infg35coupe Apr 27, 2009 12:40 PM

do you think should get the polished z tube or the regular?

Joaquin03 Apr 27, 2009 12:47 PM

I'd get a regular one unless you plan on polishing the rest of your engine bay.... and if that's the case, you should start talking to Sean, the polish master.

is the iso thermal spacer really necessary?

"necessary" is such a subjective concept.... IMO it can't be any less effective than the basic and it's only like $30-40 more... so why not? I haven't seen any scientific data analysis but the points about it helping to prevent HP loss through heat soak etc make sense.

Just do it :D

I think its a great start. I personally like the stock grill, but that's completely a matter of personal opinion. You'll like the debadged look too. Its a lot cleaner.

The polished indeed looks better.. But I've heard of heatsoak happening.. Most people get the ztube more for the sound than the HP gains anyway because the HP to the wheels isn't really "noticeable"..

I have the unpolished version, and completely LOVE mine.. Also have the JWT pop charger and LOVE the whistling sound as well.. Makes me feel like I'm doing something when I press the gas.. bwahahahahaahahah..

I'll get aftermarket exhaust (I know you said you're not interested) but mainly for looks till I'm Forced Induction. I like the deeper sound of the Fast Intentions exhaust as well.. Sounds beastly.. That's due to the replacement of the ypipe configuration w/ an xpipe config.. I say that to tell you there's more to exhaust than just being LOUD.. Fast Intentions isn't a notoriously loud exhaust.. It's actually complimentary.. Soft when you want it to be, and loud when you press the gas. As it should be.. and deeper at start up and idle.. Don't think it's just for "hot rods"..

I just debadged this weekend.. Check out my progression thread to see what you think.. I love how clean it is.. And if you're modding the exterior of your ride, it makes sense.. I was never a fan of how asymmetrical the wording was, "G35" on one side but nothing on the other, that's why I threw my SMU mustang on the other side.. GOT FLAMMED FOR THAT ONE!!!.. Bwahahahahahahahahah..
