Dark red stock wheels?

I've been looking at a few cars and I've found two or three that have these very dark red coloured stock 18s apposed to the normal silver ones. Was this an option?

When I first saw it I thought it was just a custom job but now that I see it more often I am wondering.

The cars are on autotrader so I can't take the photos off. But I'll find some.

Thanks.

No, it wasn't an option, plenty of people here have painted/powdercoated their OEM wheels.

I know you can do it yourself and how easy it would be but what are the chances of 3 people painting their wheels the same color???

And there is no rash on them they are mint and painted really well.

It might be a scammer, but it was not a factory option

No autotrader, from dealers I actually know and have been to.

All the cars of different colors as well (body) but same wheels.

The red one's unavailable now, which means it's sold. But I can't find the silver one. If I find it I'll post it here.

They are the exact same colour as the DG in the above link.

Yea for sure, I am going to give them a good inspection on monday and see what's going on. I am wondering if these cars all came from one guy or a group of friends that all decided to paint their wheels.

Not that I really care, I plan to powder coat them black then figure out a way to machine a silver lip or something onto them ( probably need a lip for that) so we'll see.

I wish I could find a 6MT in my price range with low enough Kms for me to be into it.

Well, what a way to introduce myself. I actually bought the LR coupe that those wheels were originally on. They were powder coated. I told the dealer I wanted to switch the wheels with the silver G coupe that was there. I didn't like the powder coated wheels on the LR. And the silver coupe had nicer tires.
